Juice Fasting

 

 

Juice Fasting isn't Starving

Even with a sudden stop in the kind of diet many people eat daily, and taking in nothing more than juice for days or weeks at a time, you'll still get plenty of nutrients. The truth is that you'll probably get better nutrition than before, if you existed on a fast food/junk food diet that is.

Many people think that an individual doing a juice fast would get weak from not eating. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Although there is a day or two of intense hunger for most, after the initial hunger the increase in energy is profound.

With the digestive system all but shut down, and the nutrient-rich raw food, the body can start to heal itself and slowly start to free the cells of the toxins that most people are grossly contaminated with.

As the fast progresses, most people have a level of energy like they did as children. Also mental functions, alertness and memory will be better than most people can ever remember having.

 

Weight Loss

The weight loss is usually dramatic also. It can vary widely between individuals due to age, activity, the amount of juice consumed daily and many other factors. As most people that have ever dieted would know, usually at first there is a very noticeable water loss.

If you make sure that you only drink a moderate amount of juice, and are somewhat active, there should be no reason you shouldn't lose at least a pound per day. Again, this can vary greatly so don't get concerned if you're not showing much of a loss consistently, it will happen.

I personally went from 195 pounds to 142 pounds in just about 2 months. In all fairness, this wasn't a complete fast. I did juice daily and changed my diet to mainly soups, salad (pineapple for dressing), fish (never fried or breaded), that type of diet...less than 10 grams of fat per day and usually about 1000-1200 calories.

Usually my daily diet was just fruit throughout the day, with a low-fat, low calorie meal after work. No dairy, no junk food nothing that wasn't considered good food.

Also, I worked a factory job where it was intensely hot and I was continuously moving so this helped my quick weight loss.

I also used a little 'rubber band' type exercise machine and did a decent workout 3 times a week and was able to build muscle as I went. I would have probably shown a bigger weight loss had I not built muscle in the process.

 

Amazing Changes

I had people amazed that I lost that much weight that quickly. Many asked what I was 'taking.'

However, one thing that I really noticed was that people commented on how shiny my hair was, how bright my eyes looked, just things that aren't normally mentioned if someone loses a few pounds.

The changes were drastic though. I couldn't believe the amount of energy that I had. Most mornings I would wake up before the alarm went off. As soon as I jumped out of bed I couldn't wait to get moving. I had always had to get a cup or two of coffee in me before I could really start to get a little active. I think if I had drank a cup of coffee back then, I could have flown!

At the time of this writing I've found myself back in bad health and very obese. I started this site to help me get going in the direction that I need to in order to save my life. It's also in hopes that maybe if it starts getting any visitors, that other people will see what is possible and benefit also.

I plan to start a juice fast in just over 3 weeks and I can't wait to get the intense, energetic, clear-minded feelings that I had before...and I didn't even actually fast.

I'm going to keep a day-to-day journal, along with pictures in order that I can document everything I go through as I continue on my juice fast. I'll be posting it here after the fast is complete.
